Composer and Author, Lodie was born in Schaesbergerveld-Heerlen, a town, 4.5 miles from de German border, in the South of Limburg, a province in The Netherlands, but he is of German origin. He lives in Maastricht, about 15 miles of his hometown.
At a very young age he showed a keen interest in various musical instruments. At the age of 12 he composed his first melody. Lodie, as he is called by family and friends is completely self-taught.(autodidact)
Lodie does not have a high opinion of the music-scene so he keeps clear of all this. He doesn’t consider himself a musician. This is one of the many reasons why he does little or nothing to promote his compositions in spite of the fact that many of them are of world quality and appealing to one and all.
He has many compositions and lyrics, in various styles and languages to his credit.
His debut, Lp Background, was national released in 1980 by N.O.N. Records and contains 12 songs written and composed by Lodie. Background was successful and was nominated for the Midem Festival in Cannes, South of France.Because the original tapes could not be found, we have used the very first Lp to make a digitale version. Lodie also had succes with his Limburgian band, Vûrrang (right of way), singing in the Limburgian language and the Belgium rockgroup The Snakes. Cd’s and Videoclips were also made and broadcasted.
Through the years Lodie wrote a lot of music for different artists. He also writes classical music for big orchestras.

Lodie has up to now, written seven manuscripts/books.A point of interest; Lodie, being the versatile person that he is, studied the finer points of the Dutch Law, which enables him to give legal advice, for free, to anyone who asks for help on legal matters.
